PRAXIS SCIENCE LAB / ANDROID

XLab Tools — Privacy Policy

How Praxis Science Lab handles information for this Android app.

Effective date: 2026-09-10. This notice describes Android version 0.8.0 (14) and the configuration documented below.

Praxis Science Lab is the publishing brand used by Traian Anghel. For support or privacy questions, email traiananghel@gmail.com. Include the app name and version. Do not send passwords, medical records, private recordings or other sensitive information.

Information handled by the app

Ruler and level measurements, tone presets, sound-level statistics, session names, calibration profiles and preferences are stored on the device. Microphone samples and waveform/spectrum frames are processed temporarily in memory. They are not saved as audio files or transmitted. Saved sound sessions contain numeric level statistics and, for new sessions, a complete numeric journal of block levels and threshold events, not audio or analysis frames. The app also stores ruler chain segments, named surface references, project names, room labels, notes and optional coordinates that you enter manually. Imported microphone correction profiles are stored locally. The app does not request location permission or track your position. The current version has no account, advertising, analytics or cloud service.

Permissions, services and sharing

Microphone permission is requested when starting Sound Meter. It can be denied or revoked in Android Settings; the other tools do not need it. The level uses available motion sensors. Audio capture and tone playback stop when the app leaves the foreground. The current Android application declares no Internet permission. Advertising is planned for a future version; this notice will be updated before advertising is enabled.

Exports

When you choose Export PDF or Export CSV, Android asks where to save the report. Reports can include the measurement, original calibration, project name, room, notes and any coordinates you attached. The selected document provider, including a cloud provider if you choose one, handles the exported file under its own terms. Reports are not automatically sent to Praxis Science Lab.

Retention and deletion

Clear app storage in Android Settings or uninstall to remove local measurements, calibration profiles and preferences. Android app backup is disabled in this build. Unsaved numeric journals may temporarily remain in app cache after an interruption. Exported copies remain in your chosen destination until you delete them there; clearing app storage does not delete those copies. Praxis Science Lab has no server copy of your measurements.

Security

Private app files use Android application storage protections. No additional database-encryption guarantee is made. Keep your device protected and control access to files you export. There is no Praxis Science Lab account to delete for this app.
